When should I have my lab work done? And should I fast?
When possible, it helps to have your lab work done before your visit. This helps to reduce unnecessary follow up visits and emails to discuss the results.
Most labs do not require fasting. Some are sensitive to time of day. If you have new or concerning symptoms it’s best to be evaluated before ordering lab work.
If you have any further questions, we can discuss when you should get your lab work done.
Do you accept children patients?
Yes we do.
I heard you retired. Why did you start a private practice?
The most common primary care business model is to have each provider manage a large patient panel, often more than 2,000 patients. Panel size and inflated “overhead” equals short office appointments in order to increase the number of daily office visits to generate revenue. Providers are pushed to see 20 plus patients daily. I find this stressful, frustrating and increases the risk of medical errors.
I plan to follow a Micropractice model by having small patient panel of approximately 600 patients. We keep overhead low which will enable me to spend more quality time with my patients. The better I know my patients the more efficient I become in delivering care.
